Orford Music’s Commitment regarding Sustainable Development

During the year 2015, Orford Music developed and set up sustainable development practices in its internal management, in direct connection with its vision, mission and its corporate values. This initiative was motivated by the desire to ensure the sustainability of the Orford Music Academy, to maintain high-level master classes, to strengthen the identity of Orford Music in the region of the Eastern Townships and internationally, and to protect the unique natural environment that surrounds the area.

After a careful analysis of management practices based on the four criteria of sustainable development BNQ 21000: be it governance, economy, society and environment, an action plan was developed with the desire to establish and improve operational activities. It is about making Orford Music a viable and sustainable institution, by focusing on an environmentally responsible approach. Throughout the process, relevant stakeholders have been consulted to consider their interests and perceptions to the organization.

Thus, Orford Music commits to integrate sustainable development in all areas of the organization through the implementation of sustainable development action plan. It shows a modification in the internal and external management of the organization. The action plan prioritizes health and safety and the quality of life and incorporates principles such as access to knowledge, cultural heritage protection, production and responsible consumption.
