Directly related to the Composition Workshop and the master composers in residence, musicians of the contemporary music workshop will actively participate in the creation of works, composed especially for them.
All the works written in the summer of 2021, will be written for solo or small groups of various instruments depending on the participants of the contemporary music workshop and the format of the workshop. It is not mandatory to already be in a pre-established ensemble to submit your application. All types of voices and instruments are accepted.
Under the direction of Véronique Lacroix, participants will work on the newly composed pieces of the young composers of the Composition Workshop. They will learn the different contemporary interpretation techniques related to their instrument while deepening the reading of complex rhythms.
In addition to devoting themselves to the creation of these works, they will also be able to address a repertoire of contemporary pieces.
Most of the pieces learned during the workshop will be presented in concert.
Note: The newly written scores will be given a month before the start of the workshop to allow adequate preparation of individual parts.
