By popular demand, this unique workshop is back in an extended two-week format!
Whether to accompany your fellow instrumentalists and singers or playing for choirs, ballet classes or even to replace the entire orchestra during opera rehearsals, pianists are in demand in many fields, which requires a great deal of versatility.
This workshop is designed to equip you for the various situations that collaborative pianists face. Here are some of the topics that will be covered during the workshop:
- Orchestral reduction
- Figured Bass and Recitative
- Play and sing simultaneously
You will also have the chance to impersonate a singer by interpreting a piece of your choice accompanied by one of your colleagues from the workshop. To enhance the experience, a singing lesson will be offered to you by one of our voice faculty!
Renowned pianists and vocal coaches Liz Upchurch and Francis Perron will be teaching together, thus providing participants with their combined knowledge.
The workshop includes private and group lessons.
It is an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues in a spirit of mutual aid and community.
