For several years, Louise Pelletier has led a dynamic and remarkable career as a teacher and an accompanist. After obtaining a double bachelor’s degree in Teaching and Interpretation, followed by a Master of Piano Performance, she further pursued her studies with Nina Svetlanova in New York City. Several apprenticeships in Canada, the United States and Europe have rounded out and completed her training. Studies in accompaniment and vocal coaching with Jacqueline Richard were also instrumental in her career. Louise has taught piano at the University of Quebec in Montreal and the CEGEP Vincent D’Indy. An accompanist and vocal coach at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, Louise also works as a rehearsal pianist for the Opera McGill. Equally at ease with recital and opera repertoires, she has played Hansel and Gretel in a collaboration between the “Théâtre sans fil” and the Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand-Montréal (OMGM) and Pelléas et Mélisande with the Montreal Opera while under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin. She is regularly a supernumerary with the OMGM and the McGill Chamber Orchestra as a rehearsal pianist and acts as rehearsal director for the OMGM Choir. Louise has recently worked as a vocal accompanist with the Canadian Vocal Arts Institute. In addition, she records regularly for Radio-Canada’s shows Début, Jeunes Artistes as well as Les Grands Concerts. Sensitive and enthusiastic, Louise Pelletier is a versatile and highly sought after colleague.
