      Hailed as the “Queen of the Flute” by New York Magazine, flutist Carol Wincenc was the first-prize winner of the prestigious Naumburg Solo Flute Competition and the recipient of numerous honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Awards from the National Flute Associations of the United States and China, the National Society of Arts and Letters Gold Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Music, the “Five Fearless Women Award” from the Martha Graham Dance Company, and Distinguished Alumni Awards from the Brevard Music Center and the Manhattan School of Music. She is now celebrating more than half a century as an international concert artist and legendary pedagogue, teaching at both The Juilliard School and Stony Brook University.

      During your stay at Orford Music, you will create unforgettable memories while evolving into the artist you aspire to be. Orford Music’s master classes are unique opportunities to work on your goals with the mentors of your choice.

      The master classes include the following:

      • Master classes, individual lessons or technical courses lasting 2.5 hours per week
      • Opportunity to perform in student concerts
      • Access to a collaborative pianist
      • Networking activities with faculty members and the student community
      • Accommodation in double occupancy and three meals per day.
      • Practice studios equipped with pianos (available from 7AM to 12AM)
      • Housekeeping, laundry facilities, parking, and free Wi-Fi
      • Free tickets for concerts at Salle Gilles-Lefebvre (subject to availability)
      • Opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes of Parc national du Mont-Orford, the majestic Lake Memphremagog, and the tourist activities of the city of Magog
      • Rehearsal studios equipped with pianos (available from 6AM to 11PM)
