    • 2026-acad-residence-csmart-main

The Chamber Music Residency offers a unique immersive experience in which two students will share the stage with acclaimed violinist and Carnegie Mellon University professor Callum Smart. Open to students enrolled in the 2026 Academy from June 28 to July 11, this pilot residency seeks a pianist and a cellist eager to engage in a truly collaborative artistic experience.

In addition to their master classes, the musicians will rehearse chamber music repertoire daily under the guidance and active participation of Callum Smart, culminating in three public concerts during the residency.

The selected pianist must also attend one master class per week, chosen from the following options:

      • Week 1: Jimmy Brière or Stéphane Lemelin
      • Week 2: David Fung or Stéphan Sylvestre
Important note: Pianists applying for the Chamber Music Residency must indicate, in the “Second Choice” field, the name of the teacher with whom they wish to take the piano master class.

The selected cellist must also attend the following master classes:

      • Week 1: Matt Haimovitz
      • Week 2: Astrid Schween

When applying, you will need to provide:

      • Audition materials for the instrumental classes
      • Audition materials for the Chamber Music Residency
