Denis Bluteau completed his studies in music at the Conservatoire de musique de Chicoutimi, under the direction of Mr. Jean Morin, as well as the University of Montreal, under the direction of Mr. Robert Langevin where he obtained a Master of Music degree in performance (Flute) in 1988.
Denis Bluteau was successively a member of the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra, in Toronto, from 1990 to 1991 and a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra from 1991 to 1993. From 1993 to 2015, he was Associate Principal Flute with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) with whom he has been on many international tours in Europe, Asia, South America and Mexico. Since 2015, he is second solo flute in the OSM.
Denis Bluteau performed in solo with the Sherbrooke Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Société philharmonique de Montréal. Denis Bluteau currently teaches flute at the Faculty of Music of the University of Montreal, and the McGill Schulich School of Music. He also teaches in summer academies such as the Domaine Forget and Orford Music.
