• Ensemble contemporain de Montréal ECM+ Musical Instrument: Conductor
Recipient of numerous Orchestra conducting awards, Véronique Lacroix founded the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal (ECM+) in 1987 to work closely with composers. She also served as Artistic Director for several ensembles in Quebec and Ontario. Passionate about Canadian creations, she now devotes herself entirely to it with more than 300 creations to her credit, many of which have been broadcast on Radio-Canada and are recorded on compact discs.
She discovered, over the years, dozens of young composers that she reveals to the Canadian public through the Generation project. Parallel to her work at the ECM+, Véronique Lacroix has enjoyed directing for more than 25 years the young virtuosos at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she is recognized for her teaching qualities. Each summer at the Orford Music Academy, Véronique Lacroix conduct the Contemporary Music Workshop.
