Brian Manker

Principal Cellist of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) since 1999, Brian Manker leads a rich and varied musical career as both performer and pedagogue. In addition to frequent solo appearances with the OSM, Brian was a member of the Opus and Juno Award-winning New Orford String Quartet from 2009 to 2025, performing across Canada and the United States.

Currently an Associate Professor at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University, Brian is a highly sought-after teacher. In 2022, he was honored as Teacher of the Year in the music department. Each summer, he also gives masterclasses at the Orford Arts Centre.
