      Emilio Colón

      The critically acclaimed cellist Emilio Colón has been praised by the American Record Guide for playing that is “full of life and warmth,” and described as “lively, exciting, expressive, and absolutely beautiful.” Fanfare Magazine wrote, “Emilio Colón is clearly a virtuoso with taste.” In 2017, he was named Artist of the Year by the New York Classical Music Society.

      Performing around the world, Colón has appeared as soloist with the National Symphony of Ukraine, the Casals Festival, the Reno Chamber Orchestra, the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra, the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, the Istanbul and Izmir State Symphony Orchestras, the International Symphony Orchestra of Lviv, and both the Guayaquil Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras, among others.

      During your stay at Orford Music, you will create unforgettable memories while evolving into the artist you aspire to be. Orford Music’s master classes are unique opportunities to work on your goals with the mentors of your choice.

      The master classes include the following:

      • Master classes, individual lessons or technical courses lasting 2.5 hours per week
      • Opportunity to perform in student concerts
      • Access to a collaborative pianist
      • Networking activities with faculty members and the student community
      • Accommodation in double occupancy and three meals per day.
      • Practice studios equipped with pianos (available from 7AM to 12AM)
      • Housekeeping, laundry facilities, parking, and free Wi-Fi
      • Free tickets for concerts at Salle Gilles-Lefebvre (subject to availability)
      • Opportunity to discover the beautiful landscapes of Parc national du Mont-Orford, the majestic Lake Memphremagog, and the tourist activities of the city of Magog
      • Rehearsal studios equipped with pianos (available from 6AM to 11PM)
