Gaspard Tanguay-Labrosse holds a doctorate from the Université de Montréal as well as a Master’s degree from the University for Music and Performing Arts of Vienna. His teachers include Jean Saulnier, Roland Keller, Marc Durand and Christiane Claude.
In addition to his solo engagements, he performs regularly as a chamber musician. In the spring of 2015, he went on a tour across Eastern Canada with the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada. Since 2015, he has been the official collaborative pianist for the Montreal-based opera company BOP, with which he performed the Quatuor pour la Fin du Temps in the Salle Pierre-Mercure in 2017. He has also recently performed with the orchestra I Musici de Montréal, the MSO competition, and the Choeur de la montagne.
Gaspard Tanguay-Labrosse distinguished himself in numerous competitions. In the fall of 2004, he won the third prize in the international Julia Crane competition in Potsdam, New York, and he is a laureate of the Shean Competition in 2016. He was also invited by the Camp musical Fernand Lindsay to perform Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with orchestra in 2016 for their 50th anniversary.
