Dear friends,
I am privileged to serve as the Honorary President for Orford Music’s 2025 fundraising campaign. As it approaches its 75th anniversary, this institution remains a vital pillar for the flourishing of music and the arts. From its very beginnings, it has supported artists in their pursuit of excellence, providing them with a space to nurture their passion and shape their future.
Rooted in the Eastern Townships, a region that deeply influences my writing, Orford Music embodies everything I love about this place: a vibrant cultural richness, a spirit of openness, and a profound desire to share. Through its academy, festival, and artist residencies, the organization transcends borders and extends its influence onto the international stage.
Music offers each of us an endless source of beauty and emotion, a universal language that unites and goes beyond words. To preserve this magic, I invite you to join me in making a meaningful gesture to support the future of Orford Music.
This year, donors contributing $5,000 or more will be invited to Gilles-Lefebvre Concert Hall on August 16 at 4PM to attend a recital by pianist Alain Lefèvre. Following the performance, they will enjoy a wine tasting hosted by Orford Music’s cellar master, Master Sommelier Richard Sagala.
