For many years, Alain Lefèvre has maintained a special connection with Orford Music, where his concert appearances consistently generate great enthusiasm among audiences. Following his dazzling success last summer, when the pianist performed to sold-out audiences, he returns for this edition marking Orford Music’s 75th anniversary.
The remarkable virtuoso will present an eclectic program combining masterpieces and discoveries from the repertoire, showcasing the piano at its highest level. The program will include works by three of Johann Sebastian Bach’s sons, the famous and captivating Fandango by Padre Antonio Soler, and the Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde by Richard Wagner, transcribed by Franz Liszt and imbued with sublime lyricism. The program will also feature the breathtaking Mephisto Waltz No. 1, originally composed for orchestra and later adapted for piano by Liszt.
