Concert in tribute to Serge Carreau
Concert
Immerse yourself in a world of colours and textures with the music of Claude Debussy, Luna Pearl Woolf and Tom Morrison, and the magical shadow theater of Mere Phantoms in “Vagues et ombres” (waves and shadows). The program includes original arrangements of works by Debussy including his iconic symphonic work, “La Mer”. A sonic evocation of the underwater world of belugas in the St. Lawrence River estuary, Woolf’s Contact addresses an urgent situation affecting the marine ecosystem in Quebec, while Morrison’s “Sea Change” expresses anxiety over the climate crisis.
Students from the Orford Music Academy will perform the opening act of this concert. They will have the opportunity to participate as part of the chamber music workshop offered by the collectif9 ensemble during the summer.
