Type of cuisine: Traditional Indigenous cuisine, natural ingredients.
Chef: Growing up, Miqmak Chef Norma Condo learned to cook traditional Indigenous meals working alongside her grandmother in the kitchen. Norma’s goal is to shine the light on valuable Indigenous knowledge in respect to food, as well as the roles, responsibilities and relationships people have with each other, the earth and the plants that produce our food. Indigenous Peoples are encouraged to make healthy choices in order to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer. Norma’s recipes use natural ingredients as a means of reviving her ancestor’s past.
