      Concert: The acclaimed I Musici de Montréal will close the Festival with a breathtaking program! Prepare to be wowed by festive melodies, dance rhythms, romantic music and melancholic works that will light up your imagination.

      Jean-Marie Zeitouni (french only)

      Jean-Marie Zeitouni est reconnu comme l’un des plus brillants chefs d’orchestre de sa génération pour son style expressif et convaincant, dans un répertoire qui va du baroque à la musique contemporaine. Il est diplômé du Conservatoire de musique de Montréal en direction d’orchestre, en percussion et en écriture musicale, institution où il a étudié notamment avec Raffi Armenian. Il est présentement le directeur artistique de l’Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal et le premier chef invité du Colorado Music Festival. Au fil des ans, Jean-Marie Zeitouni a été directeur musical du Colorado Music Festival, du Columbus Symphony en Ohio, du programme d’opéra au Banff Center, assistant chef d’orchestre et directeur des chœurs à l’Opéra de Montréal ainsi que directeur musical de leur Atelier lyrique, chef de chœur à l’Orchestre symphonique de Québec et à l’Opéra de Québec et directeur musical de l’orchestre et de l’atelier d’opéra de l’Université Laval. Avec Les Violons du Roy, orchestre avec lequel il connut une fructueuse collaboration d’une douzaine d’années, il occupa tour à tour les fonctions de chef en résidence, de chef associé et de premier chef invité.

      Très apprécié comme chef lyrique, il a récemment dirigé l’Orchestre national de Montpellier et l’Orchestre national de Lorraine à Nancy. Parmi les nombreux orchestres que Jean-Marie Zeitouni a dirigés au Canada, mentionnons les orchestres symphoniques de Montréal, de Toronto, de Québec, d’Edmonton, de Calgary, de Vancouver, de Winnipeg, d’Halifax, de Victoria, de Kitchener-Waterloo et de London ainsi que l’Orchestre du Centre national des Arts, l’Ensemble Arion et le Club musical de Québec. À l’étranger, il a entre autres dirigé les orchestres symphoniques de Tucson, Houston, de l’Oregon, de Monterey, de San Antonio, d’Omaha, de Honolulu, de Huntsville et de Cincinnati, de même que la Handel and Haydn Society de Boston, le Pacific Symphony, le Seattle Symphony Orchestra, le Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, le Philharmonique de Marseille, le Xalapa Symphony, le National Symphony of Mexico, le Hong Kong Philharmonic, l’Arco Ensemble et le Detroit Symphony. En 2019-2020, Jean-Marie Zeitouni a eu le privilège de retourner à trois reprises au Edmonton Symphony à titre de partenaire artistique. Il dirigera à nouveau l’Opéra national de Lorraine, l’Opéra de Québec et l’Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy.

      Orchestre de chambre I Musici de Montréal

      Founded in 1983 by Yuli Turovsky, I Musici de Montréal Chamber Orchestra has been sharing its passion for classical music for over 35 years. The 15 exceptional musicians who make up the orchestra bring to life a varied repertoire ranging from the 17th century to the present day, accompanied by their conductor and visionary artist Jean-Marie Zeitouni. With a program based on tradition, originality and innovation, the Orchestra stands out for the place it gives to the many emerging and renowned artists with whom it joins forces to offer you a colourful and meaningful musical experience. I Musici de Montréal has built a solid reputation thanks to its numerous international tours and 40 recordings that meet the highest quality standards.
